About Me

​

An expert with over 10 years performing and teaching, I work with professional and aspiring professional artists in Musical Theatre, Contemporary Commercial Music (Pop) and Classical Genres.  Specialising in Jazz and improvised singing, I work in a multidisciplinary way, using Bel Canto, Estill, Accent Methods and Alexander Techniques within my teaching.  I also ensure my education and practice is up to date, working with leading voice pedagogues worldwide to keep my own understanding and practice current. I am very personable in my approach, paying full attention to my students aims and ambitions whatever they might be.
 

As well as being a vocal coach/singing teacher, I am a accomplished award winning UK jazz singer who has performed internationally, including cruises, jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I have worked with and along with some of the biggest names in the UK jazz scene. I hold a First Class Music Degree in Vocal Performance and studied at the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Additionally while studying I was graciously awarded the Archers Scholarship for outstanding performance. Throughout my time studying I was fortunate to be taught by many great educators, singers/ vocal coaches and below are just a small few:

After I had finished studying I set up private vocal/singing lessons under the name "Sutton's Singing Lessons", with the idea of modelling my own teaching on the knowledge I had attained from my past teachers. Combining the classical and contemporary techniques and pedagogies I had picked up.

In addition to teaching private lessons I was approached to teach at a local stage school "Italia Conti Associates Petersfield". Where I have been the Singing Teacher/ Vocal Coach for over two years. My role consists of teaching all varieties of music not just Musical Theatre to group classes of pupils from ages 6-18.
